Hawah Kasat

Hawah Kasat (he/him) has been studying movement, meditation, and philosophy since childhood. With a lineage that traces back to India, Hawah's life was split between schooling in New Jersey and Washington, DC, while spending long summers in Mumbai. From birth, Hawah has been exposed to the living traditions, culture, philosophy, and practices of his ancestral homeland.

For nearly 20 years, he has been teaching yoga, mindfulness, social-emotional literacy, conflict transformation, the healing arts, and trauma-informed care to all types of students, from diverse demographics, ranging from the Washington Post, law firms, yoga studios, public schools, international festivals, and youth recreation centers and prisons. Hawah is a Vipassana meditation practitioner and recently completed a 20-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat.

Over the years, he has authored five books, produced four documentary films, and released two music albums. He is the founding editor of​ The Poetry of Yoga​ book anthology (published by White Cloud Press), and his documentary film project Fly By Light received wide acclaim and awards while touring international film festivals.
