Kripalu Outdoors: Mindful Hiking Retreat

EXPLORE THE BEAUTIFUL KRIPALU CAMPUS

The woods, fields, and streams of Berkshire County have long been heralded for their enchanting beauty and ability to refresh the mind, body, and spirit.

In this mindful outdoor retreat guided by Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership faculty, you are invited to log off, slow down, and enjoy gentle strolls outdoors in an intimate relationship with trees, stones, the great elements, and our friends in the “more-than-human world”. Let yourself be guided on soothing forest therapy walks among majestic Eastern Hemlock and White Pine trees. Relax into nature meditations next to peaceful lakes and gently flowing streams. Increase your awareness and awaken your senses to the magic and wonder of summer in the Berkshire hills.

In this retreat, you will

  • Log off the world wide web and log onto “the wood wide web”
  • Explore the practice of mindfulness as a doorway to deeper connection with the natural world
  • Participate in our unique Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Experience methodology
  • Learn to relax into the present moment, meditate with nature’s elements, and experience “earth time”
  • Connect with community who share an interest in nature and mindfulness.

Return home with simple tools for continuing your practice of nature connection and mindfulness.

Note Although this is not a hiking program and walks will be gentle and meditative, most sessions will be outdoors. Please plan to dress in layers, bring a hat, waterproof shell, sturdy hiking shoes, and a day pack with a water bottle and journal.
